My name is Philippe Adjiman. I live in Israel, currently working as a Data Science Manager at Google (c.f. disclaimer at the end), and more specifically on Waze. Previously i was a Data Science team leader at Outbrain<\/a>. I’ve received my PhD in Artificial intelligence from Paris 11 University in 2006 (back in time i was asked “what is AI?”) where I worked on both fundamental and applied research on distributed reasoning in Peer-to-Peer settings and its application to the Semantic Web. My PhD thesis<\/a> led to multiple publications in top AI conferences and journals<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My passion is around turning (huge) data into user value, by applying Machine Learning in production. I love doing it with the team at Waze \"Waze, and i loved doing it at Outbrain \"Evolution ,  e<\/span><\/span>b<\/span><\/span>a<\/span><\/span>Y<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/strong>  and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier in my career, I’ve also implemented several complex systems in C and JAVA (I had fun in particular in one of my earliest projects called SPOT<\/a>, a statistically well founded universal bet generator algorithm used by millions of French and European horse races gamblers every day, I love the commercial <\/a>they did around it \ud83d\ude42 ).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This blog is mainly about my obsession of constantly learning new stuff, and then sharing it. My main interests are around the theory and practice of Machine Learning and Deep Learning, well, AI if you prefer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some older exploration around Haddop (when big data was just getting started) with  a series of tutorials<\/a> around it and also some doing some side fun experiments<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
